Alexei Cherepanov 1989-2008.
Triste et terrible nouvelle que celle qui est tombée ce soir annonçant la mort d’Alexei Cherepanov à l’âge de 19 ans. Il aurait perdu connaissance dans la 3e période du match entre Avangard et Vityaz dans le championnat Russe, alors qu’il se trouvait sur le banc. Un malaise cardiaque en serait à l’origine. Les efforts fournis pour le ranimer n’ont malheureusement pas été suffisant, il est décédé peu après. Je reviendrais sur cette tragédie dès que j’en serais un peu plus. Alexei Cherapanov avait été drafté en 2007 au premier tour (17ème au total) par les Rangers et devait rejoindre l’équipe l’an prochain. Je souhaite pour le moment adresser mes sincères condoléances à sa famille et à ses proches. Les Rangers sont en deuil ce soir.

A terrible malfunctioning, an ambulance had to be there, that’s insane. For the defibrillator, I prefer to be prudent on that matter, we don’t know exactly what happened after the incident, the investigation will tell exactly, that’s very confused for the moment. I read somewhere (on HFB maybe, don’t remember, I read the lot since yesterday…) that, in that particular pathology, the use of a defibrillator is not necessarily the good thing to do. True or not, the doctors and emergency staff at the Arena certainly did the maximum they could to revive him. Let’s see what the investigation will reveal. Now, I would like to know why he has been allowed to play with this heart problem, that’s hard to believe but not impossible. Lilian Thuram has been diagnosed a heart problem only a few weeks ago at the age of 36…
